SOME TIPS FOR DIY IRON ON TRANSFER SHIRT

You need a TRANSFER PAPER, like Avery, or any other brand you can find. You will find this in almost any stationery supply store. You can also bring the file to a local T-shirt transfer booth and have it done for you.
Most Inkjet printers would work with the transfer paper. You just need to set your printer to a correct paper type.
You can purchase Avery fabric transfer sheets anywhere stationery is sold, such as office supply stores, Staples, Office Depot, Office Max, Walmart etc.
Avery offers two different types of fabric transfer sheets for inkjet printers 
Avery LIGHT T-shirt Transfers for Inkjet Printers 
Avery DARK T-shirt Transfers for Inkjet Printers
You just print your decal directly onto the fabric transfer sheet, and iron directly onto your t-shirt. Specific Instructions are located on the product package. Follow instruction provided with the transfer paper as the process may slightly vary depending on the brands.
